About Jaclyn and this dumb website.

I’m Jaclyn and I live in Bryan / College Station, TX with my fiance, Andy. We both make websites for a living. We hope to buy a house in the next coming months. Oh, and eventually get married. The idea of a big wedding horrifies me though, so all I’ve really thought about is having a cool honeymoon in Europe.

I started this website several years ago as a place for hosting the adventures of my Sims. However, though I still play The Sims, I don’t have a whole lot to say about it online. Therefore, I’ve turned this into just a website about anything I want to talk about, which will often fall under one of the following:

Type 1 diabetes

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes right out of high school, and I tend to vent about it a lot online, probably because nobody wants to listen to it in real life. Not that I can blame them, none of them have diabetes, so they can’t understand its ridiculousity. I wear an insulin pump and use a continuous glucose monitoring device (CGM), both which are great—and frustrating when they don’t work properly.

Boot camp

I joined the College Station Adventure Boot Camp exercise program in September 2008. It is from 5:30 to 6:30 every weekday morning, for 4 out of every 5 weeks. Prior to this I had gained a ton of weight, ate like a major turd, and never exercised. I am still the world’s worst runner, but I’m getting better at this whole exercise thing.  A little bit anyway.

In any case, boot camp is hands down the best thing I did for myself in 2008 and 2009 so I like to talk about it. If I hadn’t started boot camp, I wouldn’t have gotten my insulin pump and CGM, biked across the Golden Gate bridge, or gone skiing in Colorado.

The Sims, Sim City, and other similar games

Yeah, I’ll still talk about Sims some. I miss writing Sims stories and making pictures, I’ve just lost my inspiration for a long time now. Maybe I’m just too busy with other things in life right now.

Web development

It’s what I do for a living, so I might talk about it on occasion. Maybe. I don’t know, it’s a big part of my life, so I’m listing it here anyway.
