I eight the sandbox.

I just really couldn’t be more whiny right now.  It’s Monday morning, and I would very much like to be asleep right now.  There aren’t words that will do justice to my utter hatred of waking up early, so I’m not going to bother.

I finished Eclipse this weekend.  Good. God.  What else can I say about that series?  HOW, no really, HOW am I going to wait until August to read the last one?  I can only imagine the torture my patience would have had to endure if I read all the books when they first came out.  I’m completely in love with that series and I cannot stop gushing over it.

I began reading The Host, and it’s quite interesting so far!  I also started another Vampire series (LOL), the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter books by Laurell K. Hamilton.  I read the first book, Guilty Pleasures, after Twilight, while waiting for New Moon and Eclipse to arrive in the mail.  I very much enjoyed this book as well!  It reminds me more of Buffy than any other vampire verses I’ve come across.  And the main character raises zombies for a living.  Very entertaining.

So I’ve ordered the next few books in that series (it’s a long one, started in early 1990s and up to like 16 so far).  The first ones all get great reviews on Amazon, but toward the middle-end, they start getting horrible reviews—which is interesting.  But I’ll probably read them anyway and still like them.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people are just more finicky about entertainment than I am.  I’m not too picky when it comes to books and movies.  TV shows either, as long as they’re scripted–I generally do not support reality shows and think they are killing TV.  Except America’s Next Top Model.  Guilty pleasure.

Anyway, what a lot of people bitch about, I generally enjoy, so hopefully I will like the Anita Blake series through to the end, or present, rather, as she’s still writing new books.

Yes, I’m very obsessed with reading lately.  Which unfortunately conflicts with my desire to finish my Sims story.  Haha.  Well, one of these days that hobby is bound to pick itself back up, isn’t it?  I didn’t even play the Sims at all this weekend. >.<

By the way, on Saturday, Andy and I had a bit of a Sesame Street extravaganza, and that is where this post title is from.  Bert and Ernie are the coolest.

Well, I’ve never read any of these gothic-pleasurable books but ive heard about them and considered reading the first one when it came out but instead bought “Nine Days a Queen at my school book fair. Still good but non-vampiric and having nothing to do with what your reading. But enjoy your bite-in-the-neck books.

    Hey there Jaclyn!

I understand what you’re going through with the Twilight series. My sister got me addicted, like, two weeks ago perhaps and when I finished Eclipse… I was feeling down because I have to wait for 3 other months to read Breaking Dawn. What am I going to do until then, no idea! By the way, is The Host better than Twilight? I’m kind of curious.

Take your time to complete I woke up L.A., because I totally understand what you’re going through!

Ok, here goes.. I’m gonna work in the reverse psychology…
No Jaclyn! Don’t EVER EVER start finishing your story, better yet, NEVER play the Sims2 again!!!
    I mean it!!!!
    *end of sarcastic teasing* >D
Ya know… I haven’t played all week either… I am serious dork and play the Star Wars MMORPG, and I have been seriously busy with that. (Yeah, I KNOW - I even have my own guild to which I happen to be the leader.. so I am an even bigger dork) Speaking of which we need a website - got any advice, miss queen-of-this-awesome-site?

Melanie–at the time I wrote this post, I would have said that I don’ think The Host could be as good as the Twilight Saga. But now that I’ve finished it, I might have changed my mind. I won’t say it’s better, but I will say I enjoyed it just as much. It’s really an amazing and beautiful story.

Ash–LOL, you reminded me of The Simpsons–
    Homer’s Brain: Use reverse psychology.
Homer: Oh, that sounds too complicated.
Homer’s Brain: Okay, don’t use reverse psychology.
    Homer: Okay, I will!

Not sure what type of content you’ll want to provide on your website, but if you want a blog of sorts (they’re easiest to manage, really), I would recommend WordPress. Easy; you don’t need to know much to get started. You can have posts–like these–as well as static pages. ^^

Haha! I saw the sandbox video. I’ll be playing that little joke my sister =)
    Keep being super!

When is breaking dawn out??? I heard February 2009 but if its coming out in 3 months then YES!!!!I still cant decide if Bella should be with Jacob OR Edward. Im leaning toward Jacob though… What does everyone else think?

  7. Jaclyn May 27th, 2008 4:25 pm

According to Stephenie’s website, it’s coming out August 2. ^^

I think Edward. Definitely Edward. I like Jacob and all, but no. Definitely Edward. XD

I hope Jacob finds his imprint —or however you’re supposed to word that. LOL.

  8. Marie May 28th, 2008 2:34 pm

Umm…definitely Edward. Jacob’s a bit of an ass, no?
He kinda annoys me. And by kinda, I mean completely.

  9. Kaitlyn May 28th, 2008 3:29 pm

As much as I love Jacob, if Bella chooses him then he’d end up finding his imprint and then she’ll be back with Edward. So it has to be Edward in the end. Plus Edward is going to turn her so Jacob won’t want to smell her ;-)

  10. Jackie June 2nd, 2008 5:39 pm

Oh I think Edward was the guy 4 Bella in the beggining but… he became too controlliing 4 me. Also- Bella will have 2 ireversably change herself, nevetr have kids, see her family and wont be humane. Edward is being selfish in being with her. Now Jacob looks 25 so there closer in age, hes healthy for her,she CAN have kids and grow older, and soo can he. Like I said, I was with Ed all the way UNTIL Eclipse…

Hey–I don’t think you’ll want to approve this comment, but I think it’d be cool if you could help the fight against SecuROM. You probably know all about it by now, but just in case: http://securom.sublimesims.net/

You, being a more well known simmer, can probably help out a lot. I don’t want to pressure your or anything, but at least for your own sake, study up.

    OMG!
Everyone’s getting into reading the Twilight series and I must say they are quite addictive.
I’ve been reading each one over and over again.
The movie’s coming out in December and MTV isn’t helping me at all.
    Twilight Tuesdays kill me everytime.
I can’t wait till Breaking Dawn is out. I’m so happy it’s releasing around the time of my birthday. :D yay! birthday present!
Have you read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn that was released with the special edition Eclipse?
It makes me head hurt trying to figure out what’s going to happen but I love it!

  13. Jaclyn June 12th, 2008 10:55 am

I did read it–and I’m so excited for it to come out. Reading Bella’s parents reactions to her news was very amusing! ^^

Haha, and the Twilight Tuesdays are killing me as well!

    Hey Jaclynt!
I’ve never commented here before, woo! Anyways, you just got my attention with this little blog entry. I also read the Twilight series [but who doesn't?] and I just bought The Host! I’m also enjoying it very much!
I’ve read some of the Anita Blake series. I haven’t read them in order [oops xD] because I went to the library and just picked one up, not knowing it was a series, and started reading Bloody Bones first, I think. I pretty much enjoy them, and the only reason I can imagine that the books started getting bad reviews might be because of Anita’s relationships. =x That’s all I’ll say, because I don’t want to give anything away! But yeah, woo, that girl is whoa. -laughs- Have fun with the series!

  15. Jaclyn June 15th, 2008 8:35 pm

Hehe, yeah, I’ve been reading a lot lately, so I’m over half through the series now (finishing up Obsidian Butterfly at the moment). I’m still enjoying them a whole lot. I think it’s the next book where the reviews start getting bad, and the bad reviews are all about her *relationships*. LOL.

But, what can I say? I rather like it anyway. ^^

  16. AshSweetlady June 18th, 2008 11:24 pm

OMG - the site looks hella cute :D
I’m already on Eclipse and I just started the series two Saturdays ago. I would have been done sooner but work takes out a big chunk of my life… It sure did give me something to do when I was sick too - I totally fell in love with Edward, I cried like a baby and threw the book down in a fit of rage during New Moon.. >.> I still don’t think I’m over that, lol! But seriously cute site hun! Good job.

  17. Jaclyn June 18th, 2008 11:30 pm

AHAHA, yes, it’s an insane amount of addicting, yes? I went through them as fast as work and Amazon (LOL) would allow as well. I will say Eclipse makes up for Edward’s New Moon turdiness quite a bit though.

And thanks! Glad you like the new layout! :D

  18. Deb June 19th, 2008 6:20 am

So I’m a little late. Oh well.

I started reading Twilight in. . . October? November? I know I bought it in September for my birthday but then I read The Looking Glass Wars and the second one in that series before I got around to Twilight. But once I started it, I couldn’t stop. I ended up staying up until 5am reading the thing. Which was a terrible idea with a young baby. But then I did it again with New Moon (I’m a total Jacob fan. Yes, he’s an ass, but so is my husband and I still love him like craziness). Then I got Eclipse for Christmas and read it in two sittings, only because I knew I couldn’t handle another all-nighter. I was so disappointed when I realized there was going to be a fourth (since I like to start series after they’re finished and cut down on the anticipation time). But I’m addicted now, so I’d wait forever if I had to.

I have to say, I liked The Host better than the Twilight series, but it’s most likely only because I’m a sci-fi junky. So Twilight is addicting even though it’s not my normal thing. The Host is addicting PLUS it’s what I like to read. So it wins, but not by much. I’m probably going to reread it and then start rereading the Twilight books to take me to the release of Breaking Dawn.

Okay. That’s a really long comment.

  19. Jaclyn June 21st, 2008 10:42 pm

Okay, I know I meant to respond to this, and then put up new site and forgot to come back, because I’m ridiculous like that.

I’m so not surprised you’re a Jacob fan, Deb! And I don’t even know why I think that. It just makes sense for some reason. :D I really like Jacob (ass and all!) but I still want her with Edward so much more. Though I wasn’t adverse to Jacob kissing her either. >:)

I still don’t know if I like The Host or Twilight series better. I might have to hold off judgment until Breaking Dawn comes out. At the very least they’re neck and neck right now. I can’t gush about either enough these days.
