Underground parties, Andy Warhol everywhere

Happy 2008, everyone! It’s officially 5 hours into the new year, and yes, my sleep schedule is screwed up beyond belief. Well, I suppose it’s not really beyond belief, so much as it is totally predictable. Perhaps I should make a resolution to sleep like a normal adult this year, but I don’t much feel like it, so, fuck it. Vampire-by-weekend-and-holiday schedule it is!

I’m not very good at new year resolutions. Big shocker, I know. But I do like to fantasize about how awesome life would be if I stuck to resolutions. So, I’m going to list out some things that I would like to change/do in 2008, but most likely won’t because I’m a big, lazy, good for nothing turd.

  1. Number one, of course, would be to stop being such a fat-ass. Such a typical fat person resolution, but you know, like a diluted fat child, I do believe that all of life’s problems would be completely solved if only I were skinny. And I say this jokingly, yet, I truly do believe this in a sense. Yes, I’m actually that screwed up. But, as much as I want to be thin, I also want to eat lots and lots of wondrous junk food and not exercise ever. So, okay, let’s modify this resolution a bit: in 2008, I resolve to discover a magic drug that allows me to eat what I want, not exercise, drop 100 pounds, and stay alive! Fantastic!
  2. Okay, moving on. I think another good resolution would be to stop dicking around on the computer so much. See, this kind of leads in to resolution number one a bit. I would like to stop wasting time on forums and such things. I’ve actually been better about this quite a bit recently, though I still check them constantly and waste energy being annoyed with idiots. It would be much more beneficial to me to spend my extra-curricular computer time reading and working on Sim stories and sticking to my own website community, I do think.
  3. I will also resolve to finish I Woke Up LA this year. HAHA. Can you believe I started this in January 2006? How ridiculous am I? My characters are about to be old farts. I really want to finish this story and move on to other stories, because I think writing is a wonderfully rewarding hobby I’ve picked up. I want to do more of it, and put things out in a more timely manner.
  4. Another resolution of mine is one I’m already breaking. I SUCK at this resolution. It has to do with eyebrows and picking them out. Ugh. I just hate them and I feel them growing in and it truly drives me mad. But picking them out is just ridiculous. It started as a habit, similar to those who bite their fingernails. It started in high school, and here I am nine years later still doing it. I should throw out my tweezers and cut my fingernails down to stubs to stop myself. I don’t think that would work though. Nothing is worse than eyebrows.
  5. What else can I resolve? Perhaps some things to do with work, such as stop being the freak of the office who comes in over an hour later than everyone else. Yes, I shall resolve to become more of a morning person like I stated at the beginning of this post. Eh, no, I don’t really want to do that. I just don’t like mornings. This is a bad resolution. How about I resolve to make higher-quality websites instead? That’s one I actually think I could stick to. I’d like to completely rid myself of evil ASP.NET 1.x VB sites forever this year. After 2008, I don’t want to ever open Visual Studio 2003 again either. Hisssssss.

Okay, that’s all the half-assed, pretend resolutions I’m going to make for now. What are you guys resolving for the new year? Have you ever stuck to any resolutions you’ve made in the past?

Here’s a picture of Mat and Jill to ring in the new year. First new picture in quite a while!

Happy New Year!

Those are some awesome resolutions you have Jaclyn! The resolution’s of mine that I want to try to stick too is to lose weight as well! I have a big habit of living off of sweets & junk food and it’s starting to show on me! lol. I also want too stop chewing my nails because that is a bad habit of mine that has to seriously stop. lol. Those are the two I’m going to try to stick with but, probably won’t because I suck. lol. Hope you have an awesome New Year’s Jaclyn & Take Care!^_^

Aww, that’s a cute picture, and some great resolutions.

I never make resolutions, maybe I should, but I’d probably break them anyways.

Anyways, Have a really good New Year and keep up with the amazing stories.

I can totally relate to all of your resolutions honey - well - except maybe the eyebrow thing, LOL. I’m one of those envious people that God made with perfectly shaped eyebrows that haven’t seen a pair of tweezers unless I was REALLY bored… Oh and I haven’t got a clue about your website resolution.. to be a NC mountain girl like me, who spends ANY amount of time on a CPU game or can fix hers when it’s broken and can create myspace layouts, is a shitload more technicalogically advanced than most of the rest of my peers. It’s actually really nerdy of me :)
I USED to be that person who came in 30 min early for work, but I’ve become kinda slack and one of my -well we won’t call tham “resolutions”, their more like highly ambitious goals- is to get out of that unmotivated rut and do my best not to let what people say bother me (one co-worker in particular lol) Let me know on the progress of that drug sweetie, cause I would be a definite customer, heheh. Happy New Years to ALLL!

YES! 2008! I’ve wanted this year to come for quite some time. Why? Ummmmm I actually don’t really know. I think it has to do with starting over and leaving all my mistakes from 2007 behind. As for resolutions, I usually forget them a few days after I make them. Yes, I’m that pathetic. This year though, I’m going to try and work harder in school. I slack off a lot in most classes. Instead of listening and asking questions, I usually sleep or daydream. But I bet that’s not going to happen, because I’m most likely going to forget next week.
Anyways…. Good luck on your resolutions! Hope they magically come true! Heh. I love the picture too! Your pictures always rock. Happy New Years!!! (Even though I’m about 2 days late…)

New Years Resolutions? They are… well excuses! Whos gonna do ‘em anyway? But hey, whos against excuses? My best excuse {for downloading} is that i’m ‘fixing’ my computer!

    Pfft!

I guess a good ‘resolution’ is to get a good photo editing program {ARRRG! PhotoImpression SUCKSSS!} and stop downloading so much.
Perhaps even stop being a sugar addict… hmmm…
