Hey Peter, what’s happening?
So I haven’t loaded The Sims 2 since releasing the last chapters of I Woke Up LA. That’s quite a long time for me to go without Sims! I haven’t felt much like playing the game, and random picture creating seems to have lost some pizazz lately. Everyone is so into editing these poses of their Sims to the point that they just don’t look like Sim pictures anymore; they look hand drawn. Which is fine, as far as a picture goes, I guess. But it’s not Sims. I miss good old fashioned Sims pictures (with properly-sized body parts, mother of God!).
I can appreciate editing and I like editing hair and poses when I really want to achieve something that the game doesn’t allow. But ughargh, it’s just spurred into something else entirely in the community lately, and I’m finding myself quite nostalgic, wishing it were two years ago in the Sim world.
Anyway, I’ll get over it. I thought about loading up my game tonight and making a picture of I Woke Up LA characters, but decided to clear some America’s Next Top Model off of the DVR because it’s become quite full (I’m still watching Days episodes from October)! I was three weeks behind, but now I’m all caught up. I’m sad at who left this last episode, though at the same time, I feel it was time for her to go. I actually like all four of the girls left quite a bit! Which is a change from my opinions of last season, I think. Jenna is my least favorite of the four though; I can appreciate her sarcastic humor, of course, however, use your head dear! Time and a place for such things! In front of Nigel is not one of them. Though I must admit, I find it hilarious when they’re together because it seems they just really can’t stand one another.
Can you tell I’ve just been watching this show for near three hours? Moving on. I finished the last Harry Potter book a few days ago, or was it last week already? Oh time mashes together, who knows. The ending was excellent. I was not happy about some of the deaths, but I was expecting them. Overall, it wasn’t as drastic as I expected. Andy had told me at one point while I was reading the series that “Harry dies!” I told him I didn’t wanted to know what happens, but then he said “well, not really.” So I wasn’t sure what to expect there. It was good though. And I miss the characters already.
What else have I been doing besides emerging myself in fiction? Not a whole lot. Pouting about having to go to work. Andy’s birthday was yesterday and his mom came to town and we went to dinner and things. So, of course, that meant last weekend was spent cleaning our disaster of an apartment. It looks splendid now though, and I hope we can keep it this way at least through the holidays. Ha. Fat chance.
Andy’s mom got him several James Bond DVDs, and last night we decided to watch Dr. No. I haven’t seen a whole lot of James Bond movies, particularly the old ones. AWESOME. Haha. And though I always knew Austin Powers of course was parodying the James Bond films, it was quite amusing to see exactly where they got certain things. And the 1960s are just so bad-ass. What a cool decade to live in, stylishly speaking of course.
I didn’t stay away from the topic of fiction for long did I? Eh. I’m a fiction junkie, I’ve come to realize. Really, I just want to swim in it all day and do nothing else. Duh, I know, but for some reason it only recently occurred to me how caught up in it I get.
Oh, 1:00 AM. Wednesday. Only Wednesday, and it’s only just begun. How depressing. It will be a real feat if I make it to the holidays without losing my mind. Perhaps this is why I’m so constantly engulfed in fiction? Characters in stories don’t have to spend all day sitting in a bloody office growing an extra ass. Well, in Office Space they did, but then dear Peter overcame it all. I don’t really see me going to work construction though, eh?
*POOFS OUT OF SHADOWS*
Had to comment on this. Yes. Out of nowhere, the Punkchiqe appears.
WHAT?! Geez, girl, if your hands are not as small as your eye (along with fingers shaped like ovals), then I think you’re lost in the wrong planet.
Seriously though, I’ll admit I’m one of those who glances at my sims and goes: “nah… I need something more” and attempt to rip their limbs off digitally and stitch them back together (I hope to god I’m doing it right, though).
*resists full-blown ramble on subject* I.. must.. resist… pouring out everything… on here… you’re actually inspiring me to post my true feelings on the matter now. I’ve been in this Sims circle for… *computes* 3/4ths of your time. (If I rambled about it here, LOL IT’S GOING TO BE A NOVEL.)
I can’t really comment on the TV Shows/Fiction etc. The only one I can relate with is Harry Potter… and holy crap I haven’t even read the last book. But rest assured I do know your feeling about fiction. Really good ones immerse you into their wonderfully-crafted world - and it’s an amazing feeling.
And happy belated birthday to Andy!
And ahhhh, I have missed your anti-Wednesday posts. It’s one of the things that are just so.. Jaclyn.
*slithers back into the shadows*
Haha,
You sound so cute.
Thanks for the comments, dears! ^_^
Hehe, Punki, you always get your pictures just right. They definitely still look like Sims when you’re done and actually, I can’t ever remember a time where I’ve looked at your pictures and said “well, that’s an edited pose.” Which is definitely a good thing.
And yeah, I could totally rant on the subject forever too.
I miss commenting on your blog, by the way!
You should read that last HP book. I’m still baffled with myself that I put off reading the entire series as long as I did. Such wonderful crack it is!
I defiantly agree about the editing of Sim pictures now days. It’s so hard to find a non edited Sim picture anymore. I’m still into the old fashion non editing Sim pictures as I never do anything special with mine.
I’m so behind on Harry Potter it’s not even funny. I’m going to be getting the 4th book here soon and get to finish reading the series. I’m dying to read the last book so I can see what happens. I’ve heard of ton of things that might happen in the last book so that’s one reason I want too read it to see if their true!
I love all the James Bond movies as well! Especially the ones with Sean Connery! If you ever get a chance you’ll have to see the James Bond movie! It really is good as I didn’t think it was going to be!
Anyways, I’ll stop my rambling now! Hope you have an awesome Thursday tomorrow! Take Care Jaclyn!^_^

Of course, I don’t have a sim story, nor any sort of experience in photo editing, but I see so many poor example of editing that I want to scream. Especially the exchange. It hasn’t even been two years, it seems like a matter of months that it’s morphed into something else.
I loved the last Harry Potter book, except the Epilogue. Too cliched I suppose, and the last sentence? What the hell J.K? But, the plot was excellent.
Fiction, ah what a beautiful thing it is.
Yes, I understand thwe whiole editing pics thing. Its a game, not real humans. Im to computer spaztastic to edit opics, i go the old fashion route. Check out my sims2 stories at”harry’ssexisims.com!!!
btw. I LOVE how you banned Bobert “nonnsensical trolling or spam” GENIUOS!
Damn, Jac, I love your hey Peter what’s happening blog entry, but had I known that you were going to mention that Harry dies just like Andy did you. I would have NOT read it! LOL I’m like the only one left on planet earth who hasn’t had the time or opportunity to indulged in the finale of the HP series. So thanks for the spoiler! *sarcastically speaking* XD
Anyhoo,
On to the subject of highly animated tits. (hehe)I thought I was the only one feeling this way about edited photos. I’m glad you had the balls to mention it first! Sims2 just doesn’t feel the same. Every time I hear about a contest or what not, I can’t help to think, (Natural photo or Plastic Surgeon photo?) Sadly, I don’t even have the desire to to enter ANYTHING anymore. Oh how times have changed. Bummer! We should create a natural only blog or something to redeemed the “REAL” beauty of or poor little simmies!
Lastly, I wanted to comment you on the last few uploads of I woke up LA. Words honestly can’t began to express how amazing I think they are. I adore how: just before you revealed to us how Jill truly felt about Mat, in a few screenshots when his emotions were rising for her, you would always place a blond bimbo in the background as a decoy. Almost appearing to be a subliminal message to us portraying his past. I hope this makes sense. For instance, when they went to dinner with Greta and her dad. Jill was completely in aww of Mat and in the distant to could see a Blondie in the background that no longer would catch his attention. I thought that was slyly fascinating! Well enough of my rambling. You are an amazing writer, as mentioned before, and you do nothing but inspire me to write better. I wish nothing but the best for you, Andy, and the family for the Holidays if I don’t chat with you sooner!!!
*Hugs*

Hey I really love you I Woke Up La series!! When is the next one coming! Hope it comes soon!!
Celeste: I love that your photos are all in game. You always come up with creative sets and poses to make some of the best Sims 2 pictures out there. ^^
I’ve watched two old Bond with Sean Connery now—-I love them! XD
Marie: I actually love the epilogue. Hehe.
Ajoya: Oops! Haha, I should have preceded the post with a big “SPOILER” note. Well, even knowing that bit though, I promise it doesn’t spoil much. ^__^
I agree about sim contests now—I’m hesitant to enter any more for that very reason!
Thanks so much for the IWULA comments! Haha, that’s awesome too what you noticed about the blond background girls!!! Yep, Jill just didn’t even give her a small glance!
