Reactions to reactions from chapter 6
I’m going to make more of an effort to use this story blog to post my thoughts on upcoming chapters and all of your reactions to existing chapters. I let it go for a while, but I think I could make good use of it along with my forum. I’m just not so sure how many people check this area, so sometimes it was just easier to update the forum.
First, an obligatory warning–don’t continue reading if you haven’t read chapter 6 yet.
Okay, continuing on. I must say, I am quite amused by the varied reactions to Nik and Adeline’s marriage. I was quite nervous about that part and how well it would be received. Part of me thought, oh, this is too outlandish, but another part of me thought it was very typical to the characters–especially Adeline–to do something so drastic.
It’s very funny to hear people say, “I knew Adeline and Nik were hooking up!” Well, of course they were! Haha. In fact, one reason this chapter ended up so long is that I couldn’t end the chapter without getting Nik and Adeline’s marriage out in the open and dealt with to some degree by Jill. I’d been throwing out major clue bombs that they were together, starting with Nik and Adeline’s disappearance in chapter 5. I wanted to make it plainly obvious to the readers, but keep Jill in a sad state of denial. Of course, it’s only plainly obvious to readers willing to go that route, but to those who sympathize more with Jill’s situation, it may not have been as obvious because the idea of it seemed so ridiculous. Amusing to hear different sides!
Poor Jill has always looked at his sister through very thick glass, and up until this point, refused to create a mental image of her in his mind that was older than about 15 years of age. So that was really all we’ve seen of Adeline up to this point: a silly, slightly bratty, little girl with a possible crush on her brother’s best friend. And Nik, of course, is really just a big kid himself, so perhaps that’s why their coupling isn’t too hard to believe and perhaps pleasing to most–despite Adeline’s childish depiction.
I was worried the Vegas marriage would be too out there. And I’m surprised to hear some people say that was the first thing they thought of when Vegas was mentioned! Hilarious!
So basically, I’m pleased with the feedback in that regard. I think their spontaneous wedding and 8-year age difference is very stereotypical Hollywood, so I’ll be able to have fun with that in chapter 7 as Nik’s fame brings the “scandal” thrown in Jill’s face even more. We’ll have to see Kirsten’s reaction as well.
Thank you all again!

Adeline, Adeline, Adeline, don’t you know you weren’t suppose to be drinking in the first place? Now you’re married? Bad Adeline.
teehee I’m actually very happy they got married. Jaclyn, if you split them up, you’re so dead.
I’m curious about who will find out and let everyone know that NIK IS MARRIED!
You can just see the headline:
DRUNKEN NIGHT LEADS TO SCANDAL!
DRUNKEN NIGHT LEADS TO MARRIAGE!
And Kirsten I think will react really badly and try to do things to split them up, her and Alexis would make the perfect couple, they are both asses
I really enjoyed this chapter, I initiallly came to this website to leave some feedback, and now I have. Haha.
I loved the marriage, and I thought Jill offering to be Mat’s first kiss was absolutely perfect. I had forgotten that he had already tried to kiss her twice, I only remembered the once at the bar.
All in all, it was a fabulous chapter.
It didn’t come to mind the whole Vegas = Marriage, haha, but I guess I wasn’t thinking so much as I read. I was just really, truly enjoying this chapter. I love how everything has turned out. I think the Vegas thing fit Nick and Adeline very well. Especially with his celebrity status and all that stuff… isn’t this what celebrities do? lol
It’s great to see you inspired and getting these chapters out. I think I need to like motivate myself and get back to my unfinished stories.
Looking forward to the next chapter. =D
Oh yeah, love Mat and Jill! Can’t wait for their first kiss! yay!
Man I kinda had an inkling that Nik and Adey were an item but my gosh marriage was the last thing I would have guessed lol. I was totally thrown for a loop with that one…my my. And then I thought maybe Adeline was pregnant because I thought that would be the only reason they would have married. Guess that was overkill haha. But Jill’s whole false delusion of Adeline was very creative!
I must say I was at the edge of my seat and I absolutely loved this chapter as well as all of your work! I can’t wait to find out what happens next, things are getting pretty tangled! Thanks for making my life less boring lol. Yay Jaclyn-power ^-^!
The minute Vegas was mentioned in this chapter I suddenly though “marriage”. lol. Then in Chapter 5 when Adey and Nik disappeared I knew something was going on with those two. I forgot to mention in my comment about this chapter that I love how you had Jill see his little sister as a little girl instead of the adult she really was! That was so brilliantly written out Jaclyn! Your doing amazing job with this story and I love the direction it’s going with everyone! I’m looking forward to seeing how badly Kirsten is going to react and I know it’s not going to be pretty. lol. Looking forward to Chapter 7!^_^

I was very, very pleased to see that they had gotten married, it fits their personalities SO well! I was also very happy that Mat came over and helped Jill throug his…hard time. Hahaha! Can’t wait for 7 and the reaction of the media about Nik and is risque marriage to a much younger ‘kid!’
I definitely knew that Adeline was the one Nik was hooking up with, but I went into total shock when they said they’d actually gotten married. It definitely fits both of their characters, though- it should be interesting to see how they make it work. And aww, Jill and Mat.
Wow. I have to say that I loved the 6th chapter… which shouldn’t be a surprise since I adore all of the others lol. And I didn’t even think of Adey until Nik said “…And one more thing…” That’s when I was like Ohh Boy!
As for poor Jill (whom I absolutely loVe) I felt just as bad and shocked as he did, even though I felt like I knew it was coming. It still took me to that limit of inside pain, I felt like I could feel his hurting heart. I know he was “in the dark” about it and I wasn’t, but I still felt pretty shocked that they actually went through with it
I was thinking the whole time “They are going to play this huge joke on Jill and say they got married” But it turns out it wasn’t a joke… and maybe that’s the part that got me.
-Great job as always, Jac. Brilliant Work

Thank you guys! Luvay, that’s way funny that “the joke” first popped into your mind as well!
It’s amusing to see all the Jill-think-a-likes out there! XD
